Real-life 'Sleeping Beauty': Women must marry men at art installation

By
Women must marry any man who kisses them if they open their eyes in a real-life sleeping beauty art installation.

Both participants and observers have been asked to sign contracts stating that they must wed, The Telegraph reports.

The 'sleeping beauties' are to lie 'sleeping' for three days as part of the installation at the National Art Museum of Ukraine in Kiev. It is the creation of artist Taras Polataiko.

"Everybody, any viewer, will have to sign the contract, which says if... I kiss the beauty and she opens her eyes while being kissed, I marry her," he explained.

Polataiko said he hopes to attract a good number of potential male suitors for the 'sleeping beauties' but does not know how the installation will be received.

"It's a really serious thing, it's marriage," the artist admitted.

One of the 'sleeping beauties' said: "If it's my true love I will feel it on my intuitive level. Secondly, if I don't feel it, I won't open my eyes."

Both men and women have to be over 18 to participate and have a strong desire to get married.
