A woman has given birth to a baby girl hours after finishing a full marathon.

Amber Miller, 27, revealed that she initially signed up for the 26.2-mile Chicago Marathon before finding out that she was pregnant, according to ABC News.

She said: "I was having a conversation with my parents and said, 'You know what? I have no plans of actually finishing'. I was planning on running half, skipping to the end, then walking across the finish line."

Miller and her husband ran part of the race but when her contractions started halfway through, they decided to walk the rest of the race. It took the couple six and a half hours to complete.

Hours later, baby June was born weighing 7 pounds, 13 ounces.

Miller has now completed eight marathons, three of them while pregnant.
