More than one in ten revealed that the latest in EA's football game franchise was a contributing factor.

Of those 12%, 43% said that one person in the relationship was guilty of spending more time with FIFA 13 than their partner, and 87% identified the person playing the game as male.

Elsewhere, the most popular reason for a break-up in the past month was infidelity at 36%.

FIFA 13 was released in September, becoming the biggest sports release ever and the best-selling launch of 2012 so far.
