Parrot sings along to 'Gangnam Style' - video

By
A video showing a parrot apparently attempting to sing along to 'Gangnam Style' has gone viral.

The clip, uploaded to YouTube on August 30, has already racked up nearly 350,000 views.

In it, a yellow-crested Cockatoo can be seen bobbing its head and 'singing' along to South Korean rapper Psy's hit song.

While perched atop a laptop screen playing the famous horse-dance video, the bird tries to vocalise the lyrics with varying success.

Some commenters have called into question the video's validity, claiming that the bird's singing voice is merely a carefully dubbed human vocal with altered pitch.

Last week, Psy said that he would never perform the number one single in English, despite its huge success in the US and UK charts.

"I was a little bit confused. I was like 'Should I translate this one?'" he told Capital FM. "There was so many people who were already enjoying the music by itself.

"So what I thought was, maybe if I translate it someone will get the idea of the lyrics but they might get even confused more with the translation because they already got it as it was - so for this song, I'm not going to do it."

The original 'Gangnam Style' video currently holds the world record for the most liked video in the history of YouTube.
