The man who accidentally handed over cocaine to Halloween trick-or-treaters has been sentenced.

Donald Junior Green in Oldham had intended to give the children Haribo sweets, but mistakenly gave them drugs.

No drugs were ingested before the police were contacted.

In court, Green said that upon realising what had happened, he went out to try to find the three children and retrieve the cocaine.

His solicitor told the court: "When he was arrested, he justifiably fell upon his sword and was expecting them and knew exactly what it was for.

"He did not set out to commit a crime and did try to put it right."

Green received a 12-month community order and is required to perform 130 hours of community service.
