World's loudest dog used for burglary alarm app - video

By
The world's loudest dog's bark has been turned into an app to create a "doggy burglary alarm".

Downloadable from price comparison website Confused.com, the app uses the voice of Daz, who was recognised by the Guinness World Records in 2009.

The audio file feature's Daz barking intermittently to give the illusion that a dog is home to scare off intruders.

Head of home insurance at Confused.com Gareth Kloet said: "There are plenty of simple steps you can take to reduce the risk of your home being burgled.

"Drawing the curtains at night when you're out; installing security lights and fitting an alarm that's working are just a few."

He added: "What's really stood out in this research is the positive impact having a dog at home has on home security - it helps deter intruders while reassuring the homeowner as well.

"That's why we've created the Doggie Deterrent audio file - it's free to download and easy to use, so it's the ideal way for people to protect their properties over the Christmas period, and save money on their home insurance in the future."
