Queen gifted Antarctica, baby elephant, llama in 2012

A list of gifts received by the Queen in her Diamond Jubilee year has been released.

Each year, Buckingham Palace releases a list outlining anything given to the Queen and the royal family, with a separate list for Prince Charles and his children.

The list of more than 140 gifts includes a 1950s Tiffany & Co silver compact from American president Barack Obama, a portrait and tea from the president of Sri Lanka, jewels from the emir of Kuwait and a piece of Antarctica named after her, reports Reuters.

Animals also featured, with the Queen being given honorary ownership of a baby llama and adoption of a baby Asian elephant.

Unsolicited gifts included 436 books, 235 CDs and DVDs, 78 portraits, 40 photograph books, 28 wall hangings, 19 tea towels, 81 pieces of embroidery and 9 jigsaw puzzles.

Prince Philip also received a number of presents, including Swarovski binoculars, a wooden cigar box and a gold sword.
