History of songs for wooing men: Whitney, Katy Perry, more - video

A medley of songs for wooing men has gone viral.

The four-minute production begins with classic '60s tunes by The Supremes and Aretha Franklin before chronologically working its way to present day popstars Katy Perry and Neon Hitch.

It makes a light-hearted point that songs before the mid-1990s are romantic and classy - including Bonnie Tyler's 'Total Eclipse of the Heart' and Whitney Houston's 'I Will Always Love You' - while more recent tunes such as Britney Spears's 'I'm a Slave 4 U' are lewd and inappropriate for charming men.

In Cyndi Lauper's '80s hit 'Time After Time', the star sings: "Time after time/ If you fall, I will catch you/ I'll be waiting."

Madonna's 1985 tune 'Crazy for You' has the lyrics: "I'm crazy for you/ Touch me once and you'll know it's true."

In contrast, the Pussycat Dolls belt out in the 2005 hit 'Don't Cha': "Don't cha wish your girlfriend was hot like me/ Don't cha wish your girlfriend was fun like me/ Don't cha."

And in the 2010 song 'Peacock', Katy Perry belts out: "I wanna see your peacock, cock, cock/ Your peacock, cock, cock/ Your peacock, cock, cock/ Your peacock, cock, cock."

The video was produced by CDZA, who previously performed Google Translated versions of the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air theme tune.
