Nintendo's exercise game Wii Fit could disappear from the high street as early as September, according to Wii stock finding expert Darren Mckillop.
The bestselling game, which began suffering from stock shortages in May, topped last week's all-formats games chart.
Yesterday, both the Daily Mail and Daily Telegraph predicted that Wii Fit will be out of stock by Christmas, but the owner of a Wii stock finding website claims that it could sell out as early as September.
Darren Mckillop said: "Games pundits are predicting that Wii Fit will sell out of many stores by September. With the [Wii] console tipped to be this year's 'must have' Christmas present for thousands of families, stock scarcity will result in stressed-out shoppers and pressured parents desperate not to disappoint their children."
Responding to the news, a Nintendo UK spokesman told MCV: "We're bringing in stock every week across the UK and monitoring the current situation and sales at retail."
