Sony has launched the latest firmware update for its Portable PlayStation providing users with the ability to stream content directly from the PlayStation 3.
Using a wireless connection, PSP owners who also own a PS3 can access the console's hard drive or memory card to stream music, photos and videos using a new Remote Play function.
Content downloaded onto the PSP from the PlayStation 3 can then be saved onto the PSP's memory stick.
Sony originally planned to allow developers to utilise the PSP in future PS3 games, with the idea being to offer an additional gameplay experience. Formula One Championship Edition was shown at E3 using the PSP as a rear-view mirror, but this was dropped before the game's release.
