Report: Stabbing unrelated to 'GTA IV'

A stabbing incident outside a GameStation store in Croydon, East London had nothing to do with the release of Grand Theft Auto IV, GamesRadar claims.

It was widely reported that a man was stabbed while waiting in line to buy the highly-anticipated crime video game. However, a witness claimed that the incident wasn't down to an argument over the release.

The source said: "The victim had categorically not pre-ordered the game and GameStation is confident that he was not a GameStation customer, neither was he a part of the queue outside the Croydon store."

The GamesRadar insider added that the stabbing may not have even taken place at GameStation, instead occurring at East Croydon Station a quarter of a mile away.

The site also claimed that the incident was caused by a crowd of pub-goers.
