This week on PSN… Fat Princess!

After what seems like forever, we can finally laugh and eat cake with jovial team multiplayer title Fat Princess, Buzz! Quiz TV sports an extra trivia pack, and we can rock out to likes of KISS and Weezer in Rock Band.

Games

Fat Princess: A strong contender for the best name of all time, this team-based multiplayer game has players steal a princess from the opposing team. To stop her being taken so easily, there's a mad-dash start to fatten her up with cake, making her heavy and awkward to move, requiring several gnomes to drag away. Flan-tastic.

It's not all egg, water and flour, as the gnomes have a variety of classes to ward off attacks. Mages, priests, warriors and rangers can scrap it out in the battlefield between castles, while workers craft catapults to fly over enemy defences. Defeated players drop hats, which add the abilities that they've built up in battle.

The beta earlier this year found that many players didn't use a microphone, which made coordinated attacks more difficult to pull off, but didn't unbalance matches too much. Still, you could always go online with friends, or chew on story and survival modes on your own. Grab a slice for £11.99.

Watchmen: The End Is Night Part 2: The second and final chapter puts this rather terrible tie-in to rest. Although it looks pretty and remains faithful to the movie adaptation of the graphic novel, it's a very bland and short brawler. It's steep for £9.99, but you can always grab the free demo if you're interested.

Downloadable Content

Buzz! Quiz TV: AFL Quiz Pack: Know your stuff when it comes to Aussie rules football? Er, us neither. But if you do, then this quiz pack offers 500 questions of AFL trivia to pit yourself against for £6.29.

Rag Doll Kung Fu: Time Savers Pack: This download unlocks all the costumes and characters without having to do any hard work. Handy if you want to just get on with playing, and with a Sackboy from LittleBigPlanet that can kick the crap out of almost anything, it's not a bad idea for £1.19.

Also, Dynasty Warriors 6 Empires keeps on giving with two additional sets of armour for both men and women. For free! Koei sure are kind.

Demos

Numblast: This three-day trial gives you a taste of both the time trial and puzzle modes. As Japanese students Aoyama and Akasaka (the latter has been transformed into a monkey, by the way) must swap numbered cubes into matching two-by-two squares. Like all good puzzle games, combinations of squares make higher scores. The full game is released sometime in August.

Track Packs

Rock Band: Three rocking track packs this week, for £2.49 or 99p each.

Blink 182 Pack 1: 'Down', 'Feeling This', 'The Rock Show'
Weezer Pack 2: 'My Name Is Jonas', 'Pork And Beans', 'Undone (The Sweater Song)'
KISS Pack 1: '100,000 Years (Live)', 'Deuce (Live)', 'Parasite (Live)'

Guitar Hero: World Tour: Kick some ass with the Knuckle Sandwich track pack, at £1.59 each or £4.39 for the set.

Knuckle Sandwich Track Pack: 'Bloodmeat' by Protest The Hero, 'I'm Shipping Up To Boston' by The Dropkick Murpheys, 'New Wave' by Against Me!

PSP / PSone Downloads

Two PSP titles this week; the Feudal Japan hack-and-slash adventure Samurai Warriors: State of War for £13.99, and Unbound Saga, a comic-inspired brawler for £11.99.

There are also two new tracks for Rock Band Unplugged: 'Smooth Criminal' by Alien Ant Farm, and 'Funk #49' by James Gang, both at 99p each.

Not a bad spread, eh? Did you buy anything this week? Add a comment in the space below!
