There are plenty of huge releases coming out by the end of the year, but as always, many get swept under the rug. Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 and Lost Planet 2 could be two of them, but early demos give them the spotlight they deserve. There's also plenty of downloadable content, including the recently released Backspacer album for Rock Band.

Games

Heavy Weapon: Puzzle maestros PopCap bring the arcade-styled shooter Heavy Weapon over from the PC. It's very much a 'blast-anything-that-moves' experience, made easier through dual analogue sticks, as well as a splattering of new modes and features (such as helicopter supplies) and Trophies. Download it for £6.99.

Demos

Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2: The hefty demo comes with stages playable with both Ryu and Ayane, both set in separate Tokyo districts. There are also several objective-based Team Mission stages to go hands-on with.

Meanwhile, a co-operative demo of Lost Planet 2 is now available with up to three others, and will play out differently each time you play. There's also a demo of The Punisher: No Mercy.

Downloadable Content

Fallout 3: Broken Steel: Months after all the additional content has been available for the PC and 360 versions, PS3 players can now dabble in some Fallout 3 DLC. Instead of being released in order, it begins with Broken Steel, which opens up the ending of the game and increases the level cap. Download it for £7.99.

Also available is a free 'Prey In The Darkness' challenge map pack for Batman: Arkham Asylum, additional fighters for UFC Unleashed 2009 (£2.99), an AFL Legacy Pack for Madden NFL 10 (£5.25) and the Sheshan Course for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 (£4.79).

Track Packs

Rock Band: Pearl Jam's Backspacer will is now available to download in its entirety for £9.99, or as individual tracks for 99p each.

PSP Downloads

Two new day-in-date releases with Colin McRae DiRT 2 and Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs for £23.99 each. There is also the Li'l Asagi Comes Home DLC for Prinny Can I Really Be The Hero? for £2.99, and two tracks for Rock Band Unplugged for 99p each: 'Flathead' by The Fratellis and 'Wake Up Dead' by Megadeath.
