This week on WiiWare… 'LostWinds 2'!

A very promising set of releases this week, including a sequel to one of the most acclaimed WiiWare launch titles and a handful of Virtual Console and DSiWare games.
WiiWare
Lost Winds: Winter Of The Melodias: A fitting candidate for the 100th WiiWare release is the return of a series that helped put the service on the map. It uses many of the same platforming ideas from the first game and also adds a seasonal dynamic, allowing you to switch between summer and winter to solve puzzles. Download it for 1000 Nintendo Points (£7).
Also available is Happy Holidays: Halloween, which allows you to send themed messages to other Wii consoles. It can be downloaded for 500 Nintendo Points (£3.50).
Virtual Console
Final Fight 2: This is the 1993 SNES sequel to the popular brawler, although die-hards of the original might be disappointed by the lack of returning characters or enemies. It's generally regarded as the worst in the series, although by no means a terrible outing, especially since it adds co-operative play. Download it for 800 Nintendo Points (£5.60).
Also available is Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap for the Master System. Wonder Boy can change into a dragon after being subjected to a curse, as well as other animals as the game progresses, allowing the player to explore more of the world. It's regarded as one of the best titles for the system, even if it has already been released on the Virtual Console in the form of Dragon's Curse for the TurboGraphx 16. Download it for 500 Nintendo Points (£3.50).
DSiWare
Dragon Quest Wars: A tactical spinoff in the Dragon Quest series; while it's not as in-depth or as strategic as the likes of Final Fantasy Tactics, it offers a pleasant enough tile-based role-playing game for just 500 Nintendo Points (£3.50).
Also available is Photo Clock, an application that allows you to create a slideshow with a digital clock, and set an alarm with an array of sounds. Download it for 200 Nintendo Points (£1.40).
