The second season of Sam & Max and Axel & Pixel offer plenty of point-and-click adventuring, along with a modern classic on Games On Demand and some board games on the cheap in this week's Deal of the Week.

Games

Axel & Pixel: Developed by a small Czech Republic studio, this is a point-and-click adventure starring Axel, a painter, and his dog Pixel as they travel through a surreal and dreamlike world. Although the duo have a rather crude cartoon visual style, the environments themselves are lovingly hand-drawn and the puzzle elements are intended to fall on simple solutions rather than being too convoluted and devious. Download it for 800 Microsoft Points (£6.80).

Also available is Sam & Max: Season 2 for 1600 Microsoft Points (£13.60), continuing TellTale's episodic affair. Like the first season, it adds widescreen support and achievements, and having previously developed Tales Of Monkey Island and Wallace & Gromit, you know it'll be rather good.

Games On Demand

Grand Theft Auto IV, which was our favourite game from last year, is now available to download directly to hard drives. It can be purchased for £19.99, and a manual can be found on the official Xbox website.

Track Packs

Rock Band: Download tracks at 160 Microsoft Points each (£1.35), or track packs for 440 Microsoft Points each (£3.75).

Brutal Legend Pack: 'More Than Meets The Eye' by Testament, 'The Metal' by Tenacious D' '(We Are) The Road Crew '08 (Live)' by Motorhead
Singles: 'Point Of Know Return (Live)' and 'Icarus – Borne On Wings Of Steel (Live)' by Kansas, 'Andres' by L7, 'Surfing With The Alien' and 'Satch Boogie' by Joe Satriani, 'What's My Age Again?' by Blink 182, 'Show Me The Day' by Black Tide

Deal of the Week

The week's Deal of the Week sees all Hasbro Family Game Night releases slashed, with Battleship, Connect 4, Scrabble, Yahtzee, Boggle Sorry and Sorry Sliders all available for 400 Microsoft Points (£3.40) until Monday.
