This week on VC… 'Ninja Gaiden'!

Another rather varied offering for Nintendo owners this week, with a familiar action franchise for the Virtual Console and some sports options elsewhere.
Virtual Console
Ninja Gaiden: While most arcade games and their console counterparts are largely alike, this really isn't really the case with Ninja Gaiden. The NES version was a rock-solid sidescroller, but this is more of a traditional co-operative brawler that takes you across a variety of North American locales.
It was actually published in Europe under the name Shadow Warriors, so chances are you might have played it and not actually realised it was part of the series. You can download it for 800 Nintendo Points (£5.60).
WiiWare
Rock N' Roll Climber: This is a Nintendo-published rock climbing simulator, where you use the nunchuk and Wii remote to place your hands on rocks and control your feet with the Balance Board (or use controller buttons if you don't own one).
It's a unique idea, and although it features a variety of indoor and outdoor environments with rock slides and waterfalls to avoid, it's a little too slow-paced to be truly enjoyable. Download it for 800 Nintendo Points (£5.60).
Also available is My Zoo, which tasks you with caring for animals in a zoo and uses a Nintendogs style side-on perspective to groom and feed them. Download it for 500 Nintendo Points (£3.50).
DSiWare
A Little Bit Of… Nintendo Touch Golf: This features a slice of Nintendo Touch Golf: Birdie Challenge, the rather underrated golf simulator released for the DS in late 2005. Download it for 200 Nintendo Points (£1.40).
