The Hanabi Festival returns to Europe with two import releases, as well as a fine selection of DSiWare releases.
Virtual Console
Ironclad: Released in 2006 for Neo Geo CD in Japan, this is a horizontal shoot-em-up that allows you to choose your own route through a variety of stages. It's a bit of a button masher at times, but some rather excellent visuals and sound makes up for that. Download it for 1000 Nintendo Points (£7).
Also available is Lode Runner for NES, a console version of the platform-puzzle title originally on computers. It's a solid port and available for 600 Nintendo Points (£5.20).
WiiWare
Military Madness: Nectaris: A remake of the TurboGraphix original, this features the same story and maps but with the addition of new 3D visuals, units and competitive online play. You can also play co-operatively with up to three others. Download it for 1000 Nintendo Points (£7).
DSiWare
Pop Island: This is a rather cutsey and visually stylustic title structured around the Capture the Flag game type. You can play it against the computer or locally with others. Download it for 500 Nintendo Points (£3.50).
Also available is fantasy strategy title Elemental Masters for 800 Nintendo Points (£5.60), Spanish teaching tool 4 Travellers: Play Spanish for 200 Nintendo Points (£1.40) and puzzle offerings Simply Mahjong and Simply Sudoku for 200 Nintendo Points (£1.40) each.
