Dark Souls
Release date: October 4 (North America), October 7 (Europe)
Platforms: Xbox 360, PlayStation 3
Dark Souls is the spiritual successor to Demon's Souls, the critically-acclaimed role-playing action title from From Software. While Demon's Souls had a brutal difficulty setting and harsh penalties for death, it was commended for being challenging, fair and imaginative in its world design, making it one of the surprise releases of the last few years.
