PlayStation Mobile launched earlier this week, opening the PlayStation Vita up to an iOS-style marketplace with cheap games that can also be played on supported Android devices.
As well as providing the Vita with more releases each week, a major advantage for the service is delivering iOS-style games with physical controls, giving such arcade experiences far more precision.
We run down five of our favourite titles from the new service.

Super Crate Box
Price: £2.79
This indie darling is easily PlayStation Mobile's best launch title. A simple arcade game, you must leap around a single-screen arena collecting crates and avoiding enemies.
Each new crate gives you a unique weapon to fight off the advancing hordes, and high scores give you new stages, modes and characters. Since the iPhone version struggled due to its touch-screen controls, this PS Mobile edition provides you with a chance to play properly on the move, making this arguably the best version yet.
Rebel
Price: £1.59
Dropped on an island, this top-down action title has you run around to collect gems while avoiding fire from spawning tanks, turrets and helicopters. It takes ideas from the smartphone endless runner craze, increasing the difficulty and lowering the odds the longer you survive, before giving you points to buy new skills and equipment to nudge you that little bit further next time.
Fuel Tiracas
Price: £0.40
Self-described as whack-a-mole meets plate-spinning, Fuel Tiracas has you fill up a fuel gauge by tapping on-screen prompts, before switching gauges and doing so again while ensuring others are well stocked up. While it sounds very simple on the surface, new ideas and smart balancing make this a fun launch game with some hidden depths.
Aqua Kitty - Milk Mine Defender
Price: £2.79
A fun and polished shoot-em-up similar to Defender, this has you patrol an ocean to defend miners against waves of enemies as they extract milk from the ocean floor. It's breezy but plenty of fun, has some gorgeous 16 bit-style visuals, terrific music, and earns some additional points simply because it features cats.
Nyoqix
Price: £4.49
Certainly the strangest title of the bunch, Nyoqix sees you pilot a snake as it tumbles around a gravity-shifting arena to nudge shapes to the edges to score points. We admittedly struggled to grasp some real tactics aside from merely surviving, but there's something alluring to resisting the gravity as it pulls and pushes you around. It's a bit expensive for what it is, but it's one to certainly consider for the especially curious.
