Games out this week: Donkey Kong Country, Resident Evil, Call of Juarez

This week features new versions of two critically-acclaimed adventures, as well as a new downloadable sequel in the Call of Juarez franchise.

Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D

Release date: May 24 (worldwide), May 21 (North America)
Platforms: 3DS

This 3DS title will be a port of the acclaimed Wii platformer first released in 2010. Developed by Retro Studios, Donkey Kong Country Returns took the series back to its side-scrolling roots. The port also features an easy mode, providing players with expanded health bars and new special items.

Resident Evil: Revelations

Release date: May 24 (worldwide), May 21 (North America)
Platforms: Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U, PC

This port of the 3DS adventure on consoles will feature improved visuals and enhanced lighting effects, as well as a new enemy type and extra difficulty level. The co-operative Raid mode also adds new weapons, skill sets and extra playable characters.

Call of Juarez: Gunslinger

Release date: May 22 (worldwide)
Platforms: Xbox Live, PSN, PC

Gunslinger returns to the franchise's Wild West roots after Call of Juarez: The Cartel's modern-day setting.

Played through a series of flashbacks, the game follows a veteran gunslinger who recalls his dealings with the likes of Billy the Kid and Jesse James. It also features more arcade-style gameplay where headshots and chained kills earn more points.
