Retailers launch video game price war
Leading high street retailers have announced a range of cost-cutting video game promotions in what is being seen as a summer price war.

Among the deals on offer is an Xbox 360 Elite system with Grand Theft Auto IV for £305 from Zavvi. Gamers buying the pack will receive a free copy of Activision's Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock and the guitar peripheral, a bundle which normally costs over £70.

Zavvi, which is advertising the deal in today's national newspapers, said its Xbox 360 promotion will end this Sunday.

Elsewhere, HMV has cut 70% off certain games, including Lost on sale for £17.99 and Speed Racer, which is available for £14.99.

E-tailer play.com is also running summer sales drive, cutting up to 75% of games. This includes Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 (Steel Edition) on Xbox 360 and PS3 for £17.99 and Ninja Gaiden II for £24.99.
