'Call Of Duty 4' tops Golden Joystick noms
The organisers of the 26th Golden Joystick Awards have announced that a record-breaking 100,000 public votes have been registered in just four weeks, with Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare leading the nominations.

Media group Future, which runs the long-established 'Oscars of the gaming world', has 15 categories this year and the overall winners will be announced on Friday, October 31.

Activision's best-selling Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare leads the way, picking up nine nominations. The title appears in nearly all categories including ultimate game of the year.

Activision also has the second most voted for game with rock title Guitar Hero III: Legends Of Rock. Despite being snubbed in the ultimate game of the year category, the music title has collected seven nominations, including Nintendo, PlayStation and Xbox game of the year.

Rockstar's controversial epic Grand Theft Auto IV has five nominations, while Microsoft's acclaimed Xbox 360 game Halo 3 has four.
