'FIFA Manager 09' confirmed for autumn

EA Sports is to test out the football management arena again after announcing plans to release FIFA Manager 09 for PC this autumn.

The firm confirmed the game today, adding that the title will contain all areas of club management, from signing new players to training and extending stadiums.

The 3D match engine also promises new improvements, in the areas of "graphics, sound and AI". According to EA Sports, players will now have direct access to substitutions, tactical changes and statistics, while the text mode has been "completely revamped", offering a mixture of live commentary and an internet live ticker.

The game, which boasts more than 25,000 players, and league, club and player data from 33 countries, will include a youth transfer market and a match prediction tool.

The "lineup and tactics sections" are said to be major features of the new game. These will provide gamers with "various new team and single-player options", while also allowing users to assign form and fitness values to single players.
