ChartTrack: '2008 breaks all sales records'
ChartTrack has announced that the first six months of 2008 have broken all previous sales records in the video games industry.

Rockstar's epic Grand Theft Auto IV is a major factor in the industry's global success, after it was confirmed that the title has sold 8.5 million copies worldwide.

Bestsellers such as Wii Fit, Mario Kart Wii and
Metal Gear Solid 4 have also helped push sales figures to unprecedented levels.

"In terms of overall software, including non-games, this is by far the biggest first half of the year ever," ChartTrack's director Dorian Bloch told MCV.
