'BioShock' to utilise PS3 hardware
Publisher 2K Games has announced that it has signed a deal with developer Digital Extremes to assist in the creation of BioShock for PlayStation 3.

The game, which is also being developed by 2K Marin, 2K Boston and 2K Australia, has taken on board Digital Extremes following the firm's acclaimed work on the PS3 version of Dark Sector.

2K president Christoph Hartmann said: "By partnering with Digital Extremes, 2K Games is delivering a fully optimised experience that takes advantage of the PlayStation 3 system hardware."

The Xbox 360 version of BioShock has won multiple gongs since its release, including game of the year at the Spike TV Video Game Awards in Las Vegas.

BioShock for PS3 is scheduled for release this October.
