Channel 4 plans move into video games
Broadcaster Channel 4 has announced plans to move into the video game business by developing titles for a range of platforms, including console downloads, mobile phones and PC.

The TV channel's first project will be a downloadable PC game entitled Chronometer, which is being created by development team Introversion.

Commissioning editor Adam Gee said the channel plans to utilise a £50m fund to encourage "a deliberate, extreme swing of the pendulum by taking public service beyond television and deliberately shy away from projects with a TV component".

According to Gee, Channel 4 wants to develop games that will appeal to its main 16 to 34-year-old demographic.

Further details of PC game Chronometer have yet to be announced.
