Konami to sue 'Rock Band' developer
Games publisher Konami is planning to take Rock Band creators Harmonix and MTV to court over an alleged patent infringement, according to Bloomberg.

The Japanese games firm, which publishes the Guitar Freaks series and is also developing a music-based game with drums entitled Rock Revolution, claims Rock Band infringes its patents relating to musical instruments and a 'musical-rhythm-matching game'.

According to Bloomberg, Konami is seeking cash compensation and an order to block the use of its inventions.

Rock Band has proved such a success for publisher Electronic Arts that the firm has already announced plans for a sequel this September.
