Atari unveils 'ultra realistic' Xbox racer

Atari has said it will release an 'ultra realistic' racing game this autumn, complete with official FIA championships and tracks.

Developed by PC racing stalwart SinBin, Race Pro, exclusive to Xbox 360, will boast 'unrivalled realism' and will allow players to work their way up the leader boards through 'intense training and winning key races'.

The game will include 13 real-life tracks, cars such as the Audio R8 and Dodge Viper SRT10, and a series of events from the World Touring Car Championship and Formula 3000 to Formula BMW.

Online play via Xbox Live will also be featured, as well as system link support for up to 12 players and a new 'Hot Seat' feature, where players take turns in taking the control of a car.

"With five years' worth of experience under SimBin's belt, Race Pro ensures a unique racing experience unlike anything seen before on console," said Cyril Voiron, vice president of brand management at Atari.

"Nothing gets you closer to the ultimate racing sensation than Race Pro, and Atari is proud to add this product to our holiday lineup."
