Guitar Hero World Tour will contain two of the music icon's tracks - 'The Wind Cries Mary' and a live version of 'Purple Haze' - as well as offer players a Hendrix avatar.
Activision spokesman Aaron Grant revealed that the company had come to an agreement with Experience Hendrix, the firm in charge of the musician's legacy, to include him in the forthcoming game.
Guitar Hero World Tour is scheduled for release on Oct 27. It will be the first edition of the game to support playable drums and a microphone.
