Retailer cuts Nintendo Wii price
Struggling high street retailer Woolworths has cut the price of the Nintendo Wii console in a move to bring customers through its doors.

The firm has dropped the price of the games console and Wii Sports title by £20 to £159.99.

In addition, Woolworths has cut £20 off all other Wii bundles.

The high street stalwart, which has suffered major losses during the current credit crunch, recently rebranded many of its stores Wiiworths to promote Nintendo's Wii Fit.

One Woolworths employee, who commented on the Wii price cut, wrote on MCV: "Reducing the price of the Wii has brought a LOT of money into the company in just a few short days - as it stands; Woolies is the cheapest place to get a Wii now. The public want good things and a cheap price at this point in time, and with companies like Tesco and Asda raising prices it's about time a company looked at the consumer before making a decision on what to do in stores."
