Priced at 5,000 Yen (£26), the firm said the unit will be compatible with a range of PS3 titles that support online chat, including Resistance 2, SOCOM: Confrontation and Motorstorm: Pacific Rift.
The headset will automatically connect to the PS3 via BlueTooth, but it will also feature a USB plug for wired use.
Sony claims the device will improve on previous headsets as it offers a noise cancelling feature and up to eight hours of chat when fully charged.
The Japanese electronics giant said the device would go on sale in its home territory on October 30, but has yet to confirm a UK release date.
