Microsoft confirms Xbox 360 price cut
Microsoft has announced that it has cut the price of its Xbox 360 range in the US following earlier price drops in Japan, with industry experts predicting that the UK will be next.

The Xbox 360 Arcade pack is now officially cheaper than the Nintendo Wii after Microsoft dropped the price to $199.99 (£112).

The firm also cut the price of the standard Xbox 360 to $299.99 (£168), while the top of the range Elite is now $399.99 (£224).

Microsoft said: “History shows that more than 75% of all console sales happen after the price falls below the $200 mark."

UK trade paper MCV commented of the price cuts: "Surely Europe is soon to follow?"
