Microsoft launches Xbox Live Film Club
Published Tuesday, Sep 9 2008, 06:52 BST | By Andrew Laughlin
Microsoft is to launch a new film club on Xbox Live giving users the opportunity to view advanced screenings of Hollywood films prior to general release.
Xbox Live Film Club will enable members to get a sneak peak of new movies before they hit cinemas, as well as offering film downloads via the marketplace.
The debut screening will be Ben Stiller's new war comedy Tropic Thunder, to be held at a private central London cinema on September 12.
However, the event will only be open to a selection of winners who have entered a competition on Xbox Live.
Microsoft only has a deal in place with Paramount Digital Entertainment at the present time, which limits the breadth of titles available to film club members.
