160GB PS3 to test storage demand
Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) is to use the upcoming 160GB PS3 launch to test demand for higher capacity consoles, it has been revealed.

SCEE president David Reeves told MCV that the company will be closely monitoring the appetite across all territories for the limited edition larger version of the PS3.

He explained that some consumers have responded to the news with calls for a 500GB PS3 but others have said that they have not filled any of the capacity of their existing hard drive.

The 160GB PS3 will launch to North American and European markets towards the end of October at a reported cost of around £359.
