'Spore' piracy rates unusually high
A new report has revealed the number of illegal downloads for Electronic Arts’ popular evolution sim Spore.

Forbes puts the number of illegal downloads of Spore at 170,000. The high number is being blamed on EA’s strict digital rights management system.

Under the DRS rules, gamers aren’t allowed to install Spore more than three times and are limited to one account per household.

The rules mean that anyone having to wipe their computer for technical reasons or those buying a new computer may end up losing their game.

EA claims the system is nothing new and that most gamers only ever need to install their games once anyway.
