Talking to Shacknews, Publishing CEO Mike Griffith said: "We're exploring new models, like an annual pass subscription where players can subscribe and get a certain number of songs downloadable each month."
Themed track packs are released every few weeks, costing 500 Microsoft Points for three songs. Previous packs included songs by Muse, Foo Fighters and Dragonforce.
It is not known what the subscription will cost or if it will be included with Guitar Hero: World Tour.
So far over 20 million songs have been downloaded for the franchise.
