Xbox 360 'did not outsell Wii in Japan'
Media Create has challenged Japanese magazine Famitsu over its claim that the Xbox 360 outsold the Nintendo Wii in Japan during the week ending September 14.

Famitsu originally reported that the Xbox 360 wracked up 28,681 sales for that week, 1,600 more than the Wii, but Media Create said the publication got its figures the wrong way round.

Data complied by Media Create sees the Wii leading the way in the home console market with 29,686 units shifted, followed by Xbox 360 with 28,188, PS3 with 8,053 and PS2 with 7,669.

Handheld formats are still the most profitable, with the DS selling 63,859 units, more than twice that of the PSP on 30,156.
