'Halo' MMO canned by Microsoft

A massively-multiplayer-online game set in the Halo universe was in development since 2006, reveals Gamasutra.
Although a prototype version was developed by the studio, featuring all new weapons and characters, it was scrapped toward the end of 2007 before any details were released, along with two other undisclosed projects.
It was announced two weeks ago that Ensemble Studios is to close after the release of Halo Wars.
