PS3 denied 'Team Fortress 2' updates

Sierra, Valve

Future downloadable updates to Team Fortress 2 will not feature on the PlayStation 3 version of the game.

The squad-based shooter, part of the Orange Box, will not receive the same treatment as the PC version.

Speaking to 1Up, Valve's marketing director Doug Lombardi claimed that the absence is a result of publisher EA not providing enough support for the platform, saying: "We don't have PlayStation developers."

Since its release, the PC version of Team Fortress 2 has updated several classes with new weapons and achievements, at no cost to the user.

Although the updates are scheduled for the Xbox 360 version, they will have to be purchased through the Live service.
