'Spore' sales pass one million
Published Thursday, Sep 25 2008, 10:29 BST | By Liam Martin

The game, which was released on September 7, allows players to create their own creatures, vehicles and buildings, with 25 million creations being uploaded to the 'Sporepedia' online database so far.
Electronic Arts believe the title will remain a long term hit, with Frank Gibeau, President of the EA Games label saying: "Spore is a hit. Will Wright's latest delivers an incredibly diverse game that appeals to casual gamers and the core alike. We're off to a great start moving into the holiday season and believe that Spore will deliver a platform of creativity for gamers of all stripes for years to come."
The game has been criticised for its excessive anti-piracy measures, with EA at one point threatening to ban forum members who were too critical of the restrictions. The threats have since been withdrawn.
