Microsoft Game Studios has confirmed that a slate of new recruits will aid the development of its upcoming Halo projects.

The Xbox 360 game label has called upon the services of Metal Gear Solid 4 producer Ryan Payton, who will join a team comprising David Wu, formerly of Pseudo Interactive, Gearbox programmer Corrinne Yu, id Software's Kenneth Scott, and Halo writer Frank O'Connor.

As well as supporting the development of the forthcoming Halo Wars and the Halo 3 Shock Trooper spinoff, the recent recruits will be working on "new and exciting projects within the Halo universe", Microsoft said.
