According to games blog Kotaku, the new channel will allow users equipped with the Wii Speak device (which is included with Animal Crossing: Let’s Go To The City) to voice chat with friends online.
The Wii Speak hardware will be retailed separately in North America on November 16 at $29.99 (£15), with a code included which allows users to download the chat software for free via the Wii Shop channel.
A European release is expected to follow in the future.
