Xbox continues to outsell PS3 in Japan
The Nintendo DS continues to dominate the Japanese market, but the Xbox 360 has outsold the PS3 in the territory for the third week in a row.

According to figures from Media Create, the Xbox 360 managed to shift 8,271 units in the week ending October 5, with the PS3 only wracking up 7,232. The figures put Microsoft's console ahead of its Sony counterpart in the monthly hardware sales chart for the region, but both machines have experienced a sales dip.

Handheld consoles still lead the way, with the DS selling an impressive 42,385 units and the PSP 26,045. The Wii sold 25,330, while the PS2 outdid both the Xbox 360 and PS3 at 8,618.
