HMV launches game trade-in initiative
High street retailer HMV is to start offering game trade-in opportunities to its customers in exchange for store credits.

The chain will launch the initiative, called Re/Play, on Friday in 160 of its stores throughout the UK and Ireland, reports MCV.

Customers will be able to exchange unwanted games for store credit against new video games purchases, as well as other HMV sold products, such as music, films and books.

Tim Ellis, HMV's head of games, told the gaming website that the deal offers a "strong value proposition" for its customers while also adding to HMV's "growing credentials as a games specialist".

Re/Play will reportedly roll out to the full HMV chain in New Year as the brand attempts to compete with existing trade-in offerings from GAME and Gamestation.
