Movie studios to buy out game developers?

Developers Epic Games and SCi are rumoured to be bought out by two separate movie studios.
According to Variety, Legendary Films is rumoured to be interested in Epic Games, developer of Gears Of War and Unreal Tournament. The two companies are supposed to be developing a Gears Of War film together.
Warner Bros is also expected to bid for British publisher SCi, owner of the Eidos brand and the Tomb Raider, Deus Ex and Hitman franchises.
Warner Bros bought Lego: Batman developer Traveller's Tales last year.
