Almost 50 laid off at Cyan Worlds
Myst developer Cyan Worlds has laid off almost 50 employees following the acquisition of its primary client, Gamecock Media Group, by SouthPeak Interactive.

The recent cull from its CyanTest QA division leaves the company with just seven employees working on beta games for smaller developers, according to Cyan’s chief executive Tony Fryman.

At the start of the year, GameTap pulled the plug on Cyan's MMORPG Myst Online: Uru Live due to financial difficulties, with the company's game development group "on hiatus" according to Fryman.

Cyan is currently working on porting PC classic Myst to the iPhone and iPod Touch.
