PlayStation 3 keypad released next month

Sony's text-input wireless keypad for the PlayStation 3 will now retail in early December, one month later than planned.

The publisher announced plans for the hardware add-on at this year's Leipzig Games Convention in August, originally citing a November release date.

The rechargeable wireless pad will connect to either the Sixaxis or DualShock 3 controller, and offers a touch pad mouse support. The device will also play a role in Sony's upcoming PlayStation Home service, where users can communicate via instant messaging.

There will be eight versions of the pad in PAL territories to support various language requirements.
