Arrests made in Japan over DS piracy
Japanese police have made three arrests in Kyoto for copyright violations in relation to the sale of pirated Nintendo DS games.

The three suspects, two of whom are a mother and son, have been accused of operating a website selling SD cards containing five pirated DS games, along with the hardware required to run the games on the system.

The illegal website offered a range of DS titles ranging from free to 500 JPY (£3.50) in cost. The retail price for DS games in Japan is 3,000 to 5,000 JPY (£20 - £35).

Police discovered the site while conducting what the Japanese media termed "cyber patrols". It is the first time arrests have been made for DS piracy in the territory.
