Sega apologises over 'Football Manager'

Sega has issued an apology to fans who experienced problems installing Football Manager 2009.

Some users attempting to install the latest Football Manager - which was released on Friday - were unable to do so because of problems obtaining authentication.

Sega said the trouble was down to the printing of keycodes and huge demand for the game, and that a remedy has been introduced.

"A solution is in place and is starting to clear the problem. We are confident that the issue will be solved today [Friday]. The chances of successful authentication are increasing hourly," the company said in a statement.

Anybody still having trouble installing the game is advised to wait ten minutes between attempts.

"Sega apologises for the disappointment caused by the problems with activating the game and asks for Football Manager fans to remain patient."
