Factor 5 was believed to be working on a new title featuring the superhero for the recently-collapsed publisher Brash, but the rumour was never confirmed.
Speaking to MTV Multiplayer, Factor 5 president Julian Eggebrecht described the large-scale, multiplatform project as a "dream property for us".
Eggebreacht explained that the as-yet-unnamed franchise "hasn’t been given its dues in gaming since the Atari 2600, and has a huge universe to draw from".
He added: "If we have delivered the ultimate fantasy fulfilment in a galaxy far, far away, this one certainly is intended to do the same for a completely different universe."
Despite the publisher situation currently being in "flux", Eggebreacht also expressed his hope that the "game proves to be as indestructible as our hero".
